Sépaq has enhanced the experience in several of its parks and reserves for the summer of 2022. In addition to a new cliffside lookout point in Parc national des Monts-Valin, the company has also installed new areas rest with stunning views in the Gaspésie wildlife reserve. from Matane.
The two new platforms are located near the Auberge de montage des Chic‑Chocs, an isolated four-star mountain lodge located atop a mountain ridge in what Sépaq calls the heart of the reserve.
In a press release, the company says that each of the new trackside bridges “opens up to a vista of mountains as far as the eye can see.” Hikers will find hammocks where they can put their feet up and swing above the dramatic landscape below.
The rest areas are located on the Matawee and Button mountains in the east. In its online directory of hikes, Sépaq assigns the hike to the latter an intermediate level of difficulty and estimates that it takes about two hours.
The hostel also received an upgrade ahead of the summer season, including new siding and windows. It has also acquired a new fleet of electric bicycles.
Prices for a hotel stay vary by date, but at the time of writing a room for two would cost a total of $1,521 for a three-night stay between July 16-19, 2022.
