The Government of Canada supports economic diversification in Gaspésie

Canada Economic Development grants for the regions of Quebec terminated $ 500,000 to support the launch of Popabid and growth projects by Accès Micro-crédit Gaspésie, Soudures marine service Tourelle and Tapp Products

The Gaspé must continue to capitalize on its sustainable regional competitive advantages as well as on innovation for strategic diversification. Supporting the transition and diversification of communities remains a priority for the government of Canada, this is why Accès Micro-crédit Gaspésie, Popabid (9414-4938 Québec inc.), Soudures marine service Tourelle and Les Produits Tapp are granted a total of $ 510,648 using DEC.

This financial support was announced today by the Member for Gaspésie ‒ Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine and Minister of National Revenue, the Honorable Diane Lebouthillier. On the one hand, it will cover the hiring of specialized resources and professional fees and, on the other hand, the acquisition and installation of production equipment, promoting economic diversification along the peninsula.

The projects supported are as varied as the sectors of activity they each represent: two service offers will be enhanced, a multilingual digital platform will be developed, and it will become possible for a pioneer company in its field to meet growing demand. Ultimately, these projects should generate more $ 1.5 million investments. They will help maintain 11 jobs and create 3 jobs, thus making a positive contribution to the region’s economic development.
