Sorry to change your plans, but you will have to add another stop to your Gaspésie road trip this summer: Cime Aventures and the Bonaventure River.

Most of the crystal clear river is open for swimming again this year, and the campground and activity center offer kayak, canoe, and paddle board rentals for visitors to explore the waterway.

A spokesperson for Cime Aventures told the Blog MTL that certain parts of the river are closed in 2021 in order to preserve salmon habitats. Visitors are asked to respect the signs indicating the places where swimming is no longer authorized.

The campsite also asks bathers to opt for environmentally friendly sunscreen and insect repellent to avoid contaminating the waters. The use of soap is also prohibited in the river.
