Police are looking for the disappearance of a Quebecer in the Gaspé forest

Almost a week after finding her vehicle on wooded public lands in the Gaspé region, the Quebec provincial police still have no leads to explain Nadia Lantin’s disappearance. Police admit they are “in the middle of a mystery” in the case.

“Everything is on the table, everything is possible,” said Sergeant Claude Doiron, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec. Since locating Lantin’s vehicle six days ago, authorities have not been able to find any other evidence that could shed light on the woman’s disappearance. from Chandler, in the Gaspé.

On the evening of September 22, Lantin’s car was found in a particularly isolated area of ​​the Zec des Anses, a densely wooded area near Chandler, in the Gaspé. The vehicle was on an all-terrain vehicle track.

Teams were in the field in forest territory all weekend looking for clues. A helicopter and a dog handler assisted in the search, in addition to about 20 officers. Many volunteers also showed up to help.

“People are asked not to take any personal initiative. It is a territory where it is easy to get out of the way, so make sure you are accredited by the agents on site, who will ensure your safety during the search, ”explains the SQ spokesperson.

The missing woman was last seen at her workplace, Chandler’s IGA, on September 22. According to the SQ, she then went to the ZEC des Anses, still dressed in her work clothes.

“We are really swimming in more mystery. We have no leads, apart from the vehicle which was found, “said Claude Doiron,” it is clear that it is more and more worrying. We are talking about a woman who was not at all organized to venture into the forest.

The police set up two command posts, one at the Zec des Anses reception post and another at the SQ offices in Rocher-Percé, to collect information.

Nadia Lantin is 51 years old, 5’4 ” (1.60m), weighs about 160lb (73kg), has shoulder-length dark hair and brown hair. Anyone with information is asked to contact 911.
