More than $2 million for the development of four hotel establishments in Gaspésie

The government of Canada supports projects at Hôtel Plante, Riôtel Percé, Motel Fraser and Motel Adams

Hôtel Plante, Riôtel Percé, Motel Fraser and Motel Adams will be able to increase the quality of their tourist offer and improve their competitiveness thanks to a total of $2,170,038 in repayable contributions from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, a key partner of the region’s tourist accommodation players.

With this financial assistance, Plant Hotel in Gaspe, Riotel Perce, Fraser Motel in Chandler and Motel Adams in Gaspé will be able to carry out modernization work on accommodation units and various other improvements.

The funding was announced today by the Honorable Diane Lebouthillier, MP for Gaspésie−Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine and Minister of National Revenue. The government of from Canada the assistance will help businesses achieve their objectives, thereby helping to improve the region’s tourist accommodation offer. Their respective projects will generate total investments of more than $5.6 million and create six jobs in Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine.

Plant Hotel

Repayable contribution of $1,338,816 out of a total investment of $3,027,633

Hôtel Plante, a family business that has existed since 1959, is rated 3 stars and now has 42 units with a view of Gaspé Bay, including studios with equipped kitchens.

The project consists of expanding and developing the hotel to increase and strengthen its tourist offer and its competitiveness. The main activities that will be undertaken are construction work for the addition of 21 accommodation units, an indoor swimming pool, a spa and a gym; the purchase of furniture and equipment for the 21 new units; and doing work to fit out the exterior, including a patio for customers.

CED’s contribution will cover all of these aspects, except those relating to landscaping and the terrace.

The project will create six jobs.

Riotel Perce

Repayable contribution of $354,772 on a total investment of $1,400,000

The Riôtel Percé, a 3-star accommodation complex, operates six months a year and has 80 accommodation units, a meeting room, a restaurant and a spa. The establishment is a subsidiary of Groupe Riôtel Hospitalité Inc., which also owns Riôtel Bonaventure and Riôtel Matane. The Riôtel Percé’s strategic location and privileged access to the sea make it an exceptional site and create synergy with the Group’s other accommodation establishments for the “Tour de la Gaspésie” package offer.

The project targets the productivity and expansion of Riôtel Percé through capital works and improvements to enhance the quality of its service offer and increase its competitiveness.

CED’s contribution was used to: improve accommodation units; modernize the bathrooms of the executive suites; addition of balconies for the bedrooms on the 2nd floor; install air conditioners; put in a conference room; and the improvement of common areas, including the renovation of the reception and exterior.

Fraser Motel

Repayable contribution of $350,000 on a total investment of $842,900

Motel Fraser has been in Chandler since 1977. In addition to its 30 accommodation units, this 3-star establishment offers a quality restaurant, a bar, a conference room, an outdoor swimming pool and access to a lake. sports water.

The project consists of modernizing the motel to increase the quality of its tourist offer and its competitiveness. The main activities that will be undertaken are the complete renovation of the reception and the addition of a meeting room; installation of a magnetic card system for the rooms; modernize the laundry room; and the purchase of furniture and decoration for the restaurant part.

CED’s contribution will cover work on the reception area and the addition of a meeting room, as well as the installation of a magnetic card system for the rooms.

Motel Adams

Repayable contribution of $126,450 on a total investment of $405,611

The Motel Adams, a 3-star accommodation establishment, has existed since 1958 and now has 96 rooms. It also includes a restaurant, a restaurant-bar, a large meeting room divisible into four smaller rooms and the Orléans Express bus station.

The project consists of modernizing the motel to increase the quality of its tourist offer and its competitiveness. The main activities that will be undertaken are room renovations to meet the requirements of the Rodeway Inn franchise of Choice Hotels; renovating a multipurpose meeting room, including adapting the adjoining bathrooms to make them accessible to people with reduced mobility; and the purchase of furniture and equipment.

CED’s contribution will cover all project costs.
