Although there is still snow on the ground and the temperatures still force us to wear our winter coats, spring is just around the corner. Later this week, the city expects to hit double digits, which means you’ll be able to pull on your flannels and light jackets in no time and go out for one of the best times of the year.

When spring comes, you definitely don’t want to stay in the city and miss out on all that is happening with nature. That’s why this spring you have a bit of a road trip to do – especially in some pretty amazing caves, waterfalls and quarries, all quite close to Montreal.

The shorter ride outside of town will reward you with some of the most enchanting sights you never thought existed so close to town. Chute Vauréal

Being the longest road trip on this whole list, you probably won’t want the challenge of visiting the magnificent Vaureal Falls unless you have some free time. After driving for a bit, you need to board a ferry to officially get to your destination. The trip is definitely worth it, as the hidden place will make you feel like you’ve stepped into another universe. L’ÃŽle-de-Anticosti (the island where you will find the waterfall) is also the perfect place to hike during your spring getaway.

Chaudière Falls will make you wonder if you are still in the province with the incredible magnitude of these falls.
