7 beautiful hiking trails near Montreal that will immerse you in nature


Life can be hectic. Sometimes all it takes is getting away from the city to find some peace of mind – and there’s no better place to do it than on one of the many beautiful hiking trails near Montreal.

All of the spots on this list are less than a two-hour drive from town, so you don’t need to travel far to fully immerse yourself in nature!

Mount Orford

Distance from Montreal: 1 hour and 15 minutes

Address: 4380 Parc Road, Orford, QC

You will feel like you are walking in the clouds on the Mont-Orford mountainside walking trail and you will see unreal views while doing it.


Seven Falls Regional Park

Distance from Montreal: Two hours

Address: 403 Chemin Brassard Sud, Saint-Zénon, QC

This regional park has trees upon trees upon trees. Any nature lover will be in absolute paradise here. You can also bring your puppy with you!


Mount Pinnacle

Distance from Montreal: 1 hour and 50 minutes

Address: 1891 May Road, Coaticook, QC

As you hike up Mount Pinnacle, you will be able to see both Lyster Lake and Little Baldwin Lake. So you will be surrounded by all kinds of blues and greens!


Green Mountain

Distance from Montreal: 2 hours

Address: Chemin de la Montagne Verte, The Laurentians, QC

For all those who have the impression of having already traveled all the well-known mountains of Quebec, the Montagne Verte is a perfect change of scenery. Also, the car ride is absolutely beautiful.


Coaticook Gorge Park

Distance from Montreal: 1 hour and 50 minutes

Address: 400 Saint-Marc Street, Coaticook, QC

Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook has several breathtaking walking trails, but it is certainly best known for its suspended footbridge, measuring 168 meters long and 50 meters high, making it the longest in North America. You’ll have to wait until May 7 to check it out, though.


Boucherville Islands National Park

Distance from Montreal: 35 minutes

This beautiful park filled with greenery provides the perfect escape from the city whenever you feel like getting away from it all. You can even spend some time kayaking while you’re there!


Mount St. Bruno

Distance from Montreal: 30 minutes

Address: 330 Rang des Vingt Cinq East, Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, QC

Several options are available to you with the 27-kilometre network of Mont Saint-Bruno trails that goes around five lakes. It is therefore a perfect place for intense hikers and lazy people.
